Part number 8980915653 is a high-pressure common rail fuel injection pump manufactured by ISUZU (Isuzu) and Denso (Denso) in Japan, specifically designed for the 6HK1 series diesel engines. This component is the "heart" of the engine's common rail fuel system, responsible for generating stable high-pressure fuel exceeding 180MPa. Its universal models cover various mainstream medium-sized hydraulic excavators equipped with 6HK1 engines, mainly including Hitachi ZX200-3, ZX270-3, EX200-3, Komatsu PC200-8, PC220-8 and other 20-30 ton models. This product is a DENSO HP series axial piston high-pressure fuel pump, with a cast aluminum housing in silver gray color as shown in the picture. The black square integrated at the top is the inlet metering valve (SCV), which is used for electrically regulating the pump oil volume. Two (or three) protruding high-pressure oil outlets on the side are connected to the common rail pipe through flanges and bolts. The silver drive shaft protruding from one end of the pump body is equipped with a precision external spline, which is used to connect with the engine camshaft drive gear. Its core function is to compress low-pressure fuel from the fuel delivery pump into stable ultra-high pressure through high-speed reciprocating motion of multiple pistons driven by internal camshafts, which is the power source to ensure the normal operation of the common rail system.
Replacement and operation specifications (extremely high requirements): 1 Safe depressurization: Before operation, the vehicle must be depressurized through a diagnostic device or left to stand for at least 24 hours. 2. Cleaning: The installation environment must be dust-free, thoroughly clean the pump seat joint surface and the new pump. 3. Timing installation: During installation, the drive shaft spline must be aligned with the engine camshaft gear markings to ensure that the fuel supply phase is absolutely correct. 4. Torque tightening: Use a torque wrench to tighten in the order and torque specified in the manual (usually 25-35 N · m for high-pressure pipe bolts and 40-60 N · m for installation bolts). 5. Exhaust and programming: After installation, add clean fuel and manually pre fuel the exhaust. The new pump must be coded and matched using a diagnostic tool, otherwise the engine cannot function properly.
