The Hitachi original excavator bottom valve pilot lock valve (universal part number: 4407253) is a key safety valve in the hydraulic pilot control system of Hitachi ZAXIS series excavators. The pilot lock valve (also known as a safety lock valve or pilot stop valve) is the core safety control component of the hydraulic pilot circuit. Its core function is to automatically cut off the pilot pressure oil circuit to the pilot control valves of various working devices (boom, arm, bucket, swing, walking) before or after the engine is started or turned off, and when the pilot control handle is in the neutral position, thereby locking all hydraulic actions, preventing equipment misoperation or slipping, and ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.
 

To ensure the long-term reliable operation of the pilot lock valve, regular inspections and preventive maintenance are required. It is recommended to check the appearance of the valve body and connecting pipelines every 500 working hours to ensure that there is no hydraulic oil leakage. Regularly test its function: after starting the engine, operate the safety lock lever to check whether each working device can be locked and unlocked normally. If there is a malfunction where all actions fail or cannot be locked, first check whether the power supply (fuse, circuit) and electromagnetic coil resistance of the valve are normal.
