Part number 8086246 is the original fuel tank cap provided by Hitachi for the EX1200-5 series large hydraulic excavator. This component is a critical sealing and ventilation part of the fuel system, mainly used to seal the fuel tank filling port, balance the pressure inside and outside the tank, and prevent fuel from splashing or inhaling dust due to pressure fluctuations. Its universal model mainly covers the EX1200-5 model, and may also be applicable to large excavators such as EX1200-6 and EX1000-5 on the same platform. As a core component of the original factory, its thread specifications, pressure threshold, and fuel tank port are completely matched. It is strictly prohibited to use non original or non compliant fuel tank caps to avoid abnormal fuel tank pressure, fuel leakage, or impurity intrusion.

This product is a screw in fuel tank cap with a pressure/vacuum bidirectional valve. The main body is cylindrical and made of high-strength aluminum alloy or galvanized steel. The surface presents a silver gray metallic texture as shown in the picture and has anti rust function. The bottom is a disc-shaped base with mounting holes for easy installation and sealing. Its core is the internally integrated pressure regulating valve: when the steam pressure in the fuel tank is too high, the pressure valve automatically opens to release pressure; When fuel consumption causes the formation of a vacuum inside, the vacuum valve opens to replenish air. This ensures that the fuel tank maintains a safe and stable micro pressure environment under any operating conditions. The working pressure threshold is usually precisely calibrated to effectively prevent excessive fuel evaporation and external water and dust intrusion.

Inspection and replacement cycle: It is recommended to check every 1000 working hours or once a year, or immediately when there are oil stains around the fuel tank opening, poor ventilation during refueling, or signs of "suction" or swelling in the fuel tank. Inspection method: Check for cracks and deformation in the cover, and check for aging or loss of elasticity in the sealing gasket. A simple test can be conducted: after tightening the lid, try gently inhaling or blowing air, and you should feel a significant opening resistance. If it is too smooth or completely blocked, it indicates that the internal valve may have failed.
